Found Cafe & Vegemite vs. CHFA

There's this one coffee shop in Toronto I go to. They love promoting Australia into Canadian soil. Unfortunately, one of the most-beloved products are taken out because of the vitamin B levels. 







One of the most beloved Australian products to hit shelves is pulling out from their coffee shop because of one product. 

Vegemite. 

Vegemite is an beloved product that Australians love. They put it on toast, pastries, in drinks, etc. And now, the coffee shop is furious that Canada Health and Food Agency is now asking for it to be pulled off their shelves and taken off their coffee menu.

The reason why they are taking it out is because of high Vitamin B content and full of folic acids.

Henceforth, I've been in the coffee shop several times and its been packed! I always get their lattes and flat whites. 

I also saw how they are promoting their products from Australia via Instagram and in-person. I've noticed how much they teach us Australian culture, how they drink their coffee, promoting their establishment on socials; creating this brightly-lit open space for everyone to enjoy. 

I've been an avid supporter in Independent Coffee Shops as they rely solely on customers and this is yet another blow; in my opinion. Something that blows my mind is how an Australian store in Canada that sells this; can sell it, but in a small-business locally owned and Canadian (which is needed right now) they cannot even sell it. 

This was also on the news both here in Canada and his country in Australia, on Channel 9. Even as so, the Australian President, Albany Albanese got into it and was stumbled when he first heard the news. Watch it below:


An update: They finally lifted the ban and can finally sell Vegemite again! The dispute ended when the food regulations in Canada were now letting the coffee shop sell their Vegemite jars but with labels from Health Canada to promote 'healthy eating' and now Mark Carney was answering from Australia's Prime Minister growing calls to bring this back.

With all that in mind, I'm hoping that the Coffee shop will 'find' their calling.

As 2024 draws to a close, I want to wish everyone love this Holiday Season.  This year, I had been hit with several rejections, failures, and breakable moments. Ella Clarens "The Come Up"

Ella Clarens is a great friend of mine who we used to work at Nordstrom in 2021.  Oddly enough, we met at different departments, she was working at a different department and I was working as a Holiday Village - creating custom-made Santa bags, selling ornaments, replenishing items, and don't get me started on how many gift wrappings we would need to do by December 24th. First Electric Streetcar in Canada

On May 3rd, I wanted to check out this wonderful (and free!) Museum with a coffee shop nearby, and you would not believe where the first Canadian Electric Streetcar took place in.  Windsor, Ontario. Yes, Windsor, Ontario was the first-ever Electric streetcars that we 'in-use' in Canada. This was back in the mid-1800s, more specifically in 1886.  First Electric Streetcar in Canada Once the city decided to refurbish the vintage streetcars that were used, they coated in fresh paint, updated signs; hanging billboards that were used back in the 60's, and all signs and keep maintenance at bay. They were focusing on making it, not only keeping it looking like a nostalgic piece of work, they tried to innovate the streetcar.  They placed it on a track, with heavy equipment and careful delicacy to ensure the parts are kept in pace, they can reopen it in for all Windsorites (aka city of Windsor citizens) and the rest of the world to open.
