Honest Eds

Image
Hey Guys! If you don't know what Honest Ed's are, it's a store that sells cheap stuff (but good!) from Ed Mirvish, founder. Think of stores like Wal-Mart, but for Toronto. It's been around since 1948 and last year New Years, they closed it. Now it looks like people graffiti'd it, and it looks like a dead street. Go look at Markham Street and you'll see it dead, because they were ordered to close it. If you guys were wondering what Honest Ed's look like in the store during when it was closing, I had pictures. Refer to my first comeback blog post 2 posts below this one. OK, these are the pictures (from my cellphone) of what looks like when it was closed.  Top: Shoppers buying last minute things Left: A movie poster called "The Whittington" Right: A Cart with a poster  Left: A poster that hangs up on the ceiling when you go down the stairs  Right: Suspect. A place where you buy CDs.  This picture is the neighborhood of it w...

How to Relax..... and Rejuvenate with Meditation..... and say ahhhh....

I know, the title seems rather suspicious or strange but that's how it went down.  I'll get to the part where relaxing with meditation is really good but let me tell you my story of how I did this in the first place.  It was a cold, fall day, Stressed from everything, work, education, family, friends and etc..  So the other day, I was on a website and they told me to meditate, and since I missed a lot of Yoga classes, I mean A LOT! I considered it, and tried it once. There was this app for free and I did it. At first, I was like, why is this person talking? Is he lecturing me to relax? Is he the boss of me? (these questions in my head at the time). He was only a voice distributing around the room. I sat on my bed, cross legged and followed his instructions and immediately after, I just thought that (I don't get it) but as soon as I had that urgency to keep going, even though it was pretty weird, I felt relaxed. I only do it when I feel really stressed and needed fre...

Katy Perry- Chained To The Rhythm (How It Promotes Action)

Image
Hey Guys! It's 5:00 in Newfoundland and 3:30 in Toronto/NYC! :) I am back with more topics to tell you about!  This first topic that I'm telling you about is a music video that I found that you may have already know... This is called: "Chained To The Rhythm".... had anyone heard of it yet? Katy Perry? Skip Marley? So, the song is out and I gotta say, it's one of her best yet.  I love how she approaches this music video because of two things: 1. How we can start conversions instead of sitting down and doing nothing 2. Speaking out for what's right is the best and only answer if you want anything change in this world.  And the music video is very interesting, it challenges ourselves to become different from our normal social norms, like we could step outside our daily lives just to do what's right. Nowadays, there is a lot of standing up which is good because if we don't change. In the future, change might not happen at all so our future generat...
