Ashton Hall's Morning Routine

Image
I'm not sure if anyone has seen this viral video of this. Ashton Hall is a famous influencer who recently posted his morning routine and ones water bottle company has shot up with revenue.  When I first saw this video on Twitter (I'm still calling it Twitter, because its better), I saw this video of this guy, doing things in the morning, 3:30 am.  I look at that video and realize that this is very unrealistic and truly not someone like me can afford.  He starts his day, ripping a charcoal lip mask off, and then with Saratoga Spring Water, drinking it, then does push ups outside. There was a meme going on where he is spread eagle and wearing high heels. (I find that hilarious) He dips his face in water, twice! (one in the early wee morning hours) and (one just before his interview) Meditates and writes an empty page journal. (I wish he actually wrote something) He uses the pool to dive in, which in case five minute gap feels like a 5 second rule (by Mel Robbins). I ...

Canadian Poets

Image
I was thinking a lot about Canada and the growing legacy poets leave behind. This is not the Tragically Hip 'Poets' for you.  April (in five days) is National Poetry month which there is a lot of great Canadian poetry from coast to coast.  During this time, there was a lot of different pieces of writing and talented writers who find inspiration from this great coast and I wanted to give them a platform (like this blog) to give their voices and make them heard. Some of the collections you find are written in the in the Poetry Pause from the Canadian Pause last year. I'll share some of them now. If you are the poet and want me to take this down, please let me know. ( via Instragram: 'Poetry Pause: 5 poems from July'.  " This land currently called Canada" - by Susie Whelelan "When I heard him say these words,  I stopped rinsing my cereal bowl, Stood still, looked at the radio, shook my head and smiled. Of course, "currently",  not "now...

Hudson's Bay Queen Street Memories....

Image
I wanted to share some memories at the Hudson's Bay (176 Yonge Street) since its on the verge of closing down by June. One of many things that I can say about Hudson's Bay, is that I had a lot of memories in one department store. It's very strange to find a store that holds lots of stories.  My mom used to go there all the time to buy chocolate for the holiday season, get a facial from Clarins, or even check out the kids department for the young ones. One of the which is my good friend, Pat. I remember my mom (who works nearby) goes to her for facials. She worked at the Clarins counter and I remember how friendly she was.  My favourite person, Pat   She was asking her 'How was your day, how   was your work', we talked about family life, and   giving out some special samples for me, which I   loved. (that was my 11 year old self speaking)   She treated all her customers with warm, inviting and pleasant, almost like you were par...
